Using forms with subforms
Using datasheets and simple forms you can create two basic types of layouts.
Either the fields of the selected record goes into bookmarked positions of the
document, or multiple records fields go into a table. By using forms with (1 or
more) sub forms you can create mixed-layout documents of unlimited
complexity!
In Template Designer you can
a. drag-drop a sub form on the template. In that case bookmarks are constructed
from subformname+controlname. However if b. you drop individual fields, it only
uses the control name. In case of a. the mailmerge will insert the records in
the sub form. In case of b. it will pick up the data from first record
only, which is useful in some use cases.
