Installation and connecting to your database

Note: Mail Merge for Microsoft Access is technically a library, not an Access add-in. Therefore you should not try to install it using Access' add-in manager.

Installation: run setup

Installing Mail Merge for Microsoft Access

1. Download latest version from http://www.4tops.com/downloadaccessmailmerge.htm

Access Mail Merge is distributed as either a setup program or a zip file.

• running the executable will create a folder containing all items needed for using access mail merge. In addition it creates an entry under Start > All Programs
• zip: extract the folder included in the zip to your preferred location. See Files included with Access Mail Merge to see what is included and what it is used for. 

2.   Connect Mail Merge for Microsoft Access with your selected database using the Mail Merge Installer(mailmergeinstaller.mde)

Note that you need to connect every database you want to use 4TOPS Mail Merge with separately.

Uninstalling Mail Merge for Microsoft Access

1. Use the Mail Merge Installer (mailmergeinstaller.mde) to disconnect Mail Merge for Microsoft Access with your selected database
2. Remove the folder with Mail Merge for Microsoft Access files

Installing updates (ReConnect + Fix)

We bring out improved versions on a regular basis. Therefore it is worthwhile to regularly visit http://www.4tops.com/downloadaccessmailmerge.htm and download the latest version. It is important to use the Access Mail Merge Installer. You will have to explicitly connect the new version with each database that uses access mail merge. Use the Connect button, and when asked go thru the Fix process to prevent compile state problems.
