Creating an Email using the content of a field or control

With this approach you delegate the responsibility of making the email's content to expressions in controls on the form or fields in a query underlying the datasource.

  1. Mail Merge > New > Email

This starts the Mail Merge Wizard.

2.1 Give a name to the process indicating what type of email will be created.

2.2 Indicate if you want all records in the data source to be selected or only the current one (see also Select records to process / create documents from)

2.3 Press Next button (->)

3.1 To whom will the email be sent. This field can use expressions.

3.2 What should go in the Subject of the email. This field can use expressions.

3.3 Select how you want to fill the body of the email (see Creating an Email using the content of a field or control). In this section the relevant option is to select one of the available fields.

3.4 Press Preview to see what the resulting email wil be like.

3.5 Press Next button (->)

4. Press 'Create template and process' button. In this case only the process is created. From now on the saved email process is visible from the Process Selection dialog and can be started from there.
